On Wednesday they have old Star Trek on sci fi during the day.
Just in case anyone is home all afternoon on Wednesday. A friend of mine--I'm sure some of you can guess who--just bought the first season DVD set. I will have to borrow those. I've wanted to buy it myself but I can't explain to myslf (or futurewife) why that one hundred dollars would be well spent.

Finished that first Gunslinger book last night while WarGames was on TCM. They almost started to mix in my head which would have been entertaining. I don't think I've seen WarGames in 20 years, if I've ever seen it at all. I'm leaning toward 'seen part of it', because I sure didn't remember anything at all. It was fun though. Cold War.

I'm thinking about starting a Dickens book now, maybe Little Dorritt. I've been hankering for something a little meatier than what I've been reading. Though maybe I just mean longer? Don't know. I will let you know what sort of decision I make. It seems like I'm in the middle of a lot of books, but I'm just reading short stories and such in collections and I'm not about to sit down and tear through them. Let's look at the situation:

There's that McSweeney's collection I blogged about in Smarty Pants Edge which I've warmed up to a little bit.
Then, Children of Cthulhu which contains 'horror in the vein of . . . " (BNoble Clearance)
The two Conan books and Solomon Kane.
Every once in awhile I awake and say to myself: I'm gonna' read a Conan story. That's the way to read Howard, trust me. There's no trudging through story after story. I mean, you could, but it's really something best served in small portions. Llike a good gorgonzola cheese or piece of delicious dark chocolate.

I'll blog about that Cthulhu thing when I get a better sense of it.

Oh my God!! Kirk has been transported from the Enterprise into some sort of Arena to battle a lizard man. The lizard man has eyes like diamonds. Kirk is trying to get past his revulsion and remenber that the creature is intelligent, despite it's choice of leopard print lame tunic.

Last Blog I had to bail because the Buffy ep was the season 2 finale and I didn't want you guys to see me cry.
